Bob Bain is the Director of Technical Accounting Services Pty Ltd.
Bob was born in the United Kingdom in 1944 and since migrating to Australia in 1970 has gained a Master of Commerce (Professional Accounting) Degree from the University of New England and a Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting from the University of Southern Queensland.
Bob achieved a merit award in the subject Small Business Finance from CPA Australia and the New England Business School for studies at the University of New England.
Other qualifications include the professional examinations of the Australian Computer Society (1994), TAFE (NSW) certificates in Cost Accounting and Commercial (Computer) Programming together with a Certificate IV in Small Business Management from the Penrith Business Advisory Centre and numerous certificates of attainment in a variety of computer related subjects such as Database Design and Systems Analysis.
Bob is a Fellow Professional National Accountant of the National Institute of Accountants, a Senior Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA) and a professional grade Member of the Australian Computer Society. Bob has joined the Association of Accounting Technicians as a joint Fellow (AATF).
Bob has devoted his working career to the Finance and Accounting sector with a strong interest in Accounting Systems including 9 years as Management Accountant of a major publishing company, 11 years as Systems Accountant for that company and over 10 years as a Business Analyst working on a contract basis for agencies such as Robert Half Management Resources, Hamilton James & Bruce and Ambition.
Bob's interests include the use of Business Intelligence Software (OLAP) to analyse and interpret Financial information for management. This includes the use of the Applixware product TM1.
